nCompass Resolution, ASP, XML, Java Applets, Microsoft® SQL 7, NT 4, HTML CoffeeNetwork.com is the premiere information and news site for the coffee commodities industry. The site supplies real-time news and quotes, along with feature articles and insights. CoffeeNetwork.com hired Standpipe to develop the content-based web site using content-management software Resolution, from nCompass (now owned by Microsoft®). The registration process for the site, where the e-commerce elements exist, was fairly complicated, with a number of steps and options, and given the target market of coffee industry experts and traders, the system had to be easy-to-use and self-explanatory. Standpipe developed the architecture of the site using Resolution, so that CoffeeNetwork.com could quickly and easily publish content. The registration process was analyzed by Standpipe's user interface experts, and developed in such a way that it would be as straightforward and simple to complete as possible. The e-commerce elements of the system were integrated into the registration process, as well as within the User Profile system, where users are able to change their subscriptions and personal information at any time. The back-end administration module, where CoffeeNetwork.com could manage user subscriptions was also integrated into the e-commerce and transaction modules.
