ASP, NT 4, Microsoft® SQL 7, HTML KTA-Tator provides coatings and corrosion products and services. Its expertise is focused on the protective coating and construction industries. KTA-Tator hired Standpipe to build an online catalog for KTA-Tator's products. Given the target market of non-savvy users, the catalog would have to be incredibly easy to navigate and use. The system needed to include several ways of completing purchases, including secure transactions, purchase orders, non-account purchases and international orders. The system would also need to be especially easy to administer for KTA-Tator managers. Standpipe developed a simple interface for the catalog, focused on the products and product information. Through a Helpful Hints section, Standpipe was able to disseminate important product information without clogging the screen unnecessarily. The system was built with flexibility and scalability in mind - any number of products and product categories could be added through the web-based administration tool with little-to-no web experience. Functionality such as "Specials of the Month" and bulk discounts were included in the system. Back-end reporting, on products sold, allowed KTA-Tator to track and monitor the success of the catalog.
