Tonos is an online music insider's network founded by Carole Bayer Sager, David Foster and Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds. Tonos seeks and develops talent through its online Challenges contests. Tonos is an online resource and community for musicians and artists around the world. Tonos asked Standpipe to develop an application that would allow users to listen to, rate and vote on performances by contestants in Tonos' talent search Challenges. The application had to be extremely secure and scalable to very high levels of traffic. Standpipe developed the Challenge Entry Listening, Voting and Rating system (CLVR) and the Administration Interface tool (CLVR AI). Both systems were integrated into Tonos' existing online infrastructure. CLVR allows users to rate a pool of Challenge entrants and vote on the top 10 Challenge semi-finalists. Particular care was taken to secure the system against cheating (e.g. multiple votes by the same user), and to ensure it is robust and scalable to high traffic volume and usage. CLVR AI is an easy-to-use administration tool. It allows Tonos to manage and support the CLVR system and to generate reports on rating and voting activity CLVR is one of Tonos' core components.
