Images and Notes from Other Loop Builders, Inventors, and Enthusiasts
To continue to build this site as a loop information resource, I have decided to post with permission, emails, photos, and articles from other magnetic loop builders. Please enjoy, and consider sending me your magnetic loop pictures, articles, and thoughts
Please click on the links to go to each loop builders section
John Gbur, N3KNZ, gives us two new loop designs that build off his earlier articles. John, continues to take his loop building to the next level of workmanship.
Ken Holland, K9FV describes his latest experiment with a 40 meter loop he built with his friend Leon. This antenna is made from aluminum conduit pipe, with all mechanical connections.
John Gbur, N3KNZ, gives us some modifications to an ARRL article on an easy to construct magnetic loop. John also describes a wonderful PVC base ideal for supporting loop antennas from the QST article.
Neil Lowson, GM4XRF, has been kind enough to send us an article on his homebrew magnetic loop antenna which features a very neat automated capacitor arrangement for tuning. Very useful pictures and diagrams.
Art Heft, K8CIT, has just given us a unique article describing his approach to building magnetic loops. This is a must read, as Art has detailed a fantastic home brew capacitor, and a loop design based on an old article which will be of much interest.
| Kenneth Hirschberg, K6HPX, has sent us these awsome picutres of this mobile loop, and some other projects he has been working on. Ken also submitted a great magnetic loop reference list, and some of this thoughts about loop antennas. | ![]() |
I encourage more builders and inventors to submit information and photos to me at brian@standpipe.com
